Burns Supper in Maule 23rd January 2010

This year the Burns Supper was held in the Sales de Fette in Maule. The Carnoustie party travelled to France on 22nd and were soon settled in with their hosts for the weekend. As usual the event was well attended and the venue well subscribed from the French side.

The haggis was piped in true fashion and the address made by Annie Thomson

The Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Michel Contet and the Immortal Memory given - in French and English - by Max Fordyce. There was also performances by a local choir and as usual our French hosts had excelled themselves with the traditional Burns fare.

The toast to the lassie was delivered by Yves Merle and the reply given by Liz Pardo

The evening was of course rounded off with music and dancing and as can be seen on the left the twinning Ramsay tartan was prominently on display. Karen Contet - in the Ramsay tartan - with Max Fordyce.
